This is exceptional. I too have experienced the failure that comes from not heeding this advice.

What's fascinating to me is how so much of this is right there in Law 9 of Greene's "The 48 Laws of Power"

"Any momentary triumph you think you have gained through argument is really a Pyrrhic victory: The resentment and ill will you stir up is stronger and lasts longer than any momentary change of opinion. It is much more powerful to get others to agree with you through your actions, without saying a word. Demonstrate, do not explicate."

It’s important to speak up in a truthful manner, but there’s a difference between bluntly blurting out “That’s an ugly baby”, and tactfully saying “That’s not the best looking baby I’ve ever seen.”

Really insightful.

I’ve always believed that whether it’s Technology, Teaching, or Finance, one of our greatest advantages is the ability to translate our craft for people who don’t share our background.

Ego and differences in thinking can introduce heavy bias, especially when we’re trying to analyze facts. In the end, decisions should be grounded in evidence rather than opinion, even if the real world doesn’t always make that easy.

Either way, wishing everyone the best.

Good to hear from you again, Etienne.
